Stop the killings of Christians in Nigeria-NSCEA cries out

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) strongly condemns the brutal killings of fifty one (51) Christians in Zikke, Kwall District of Bassa, Plateau State, on April 14, 2025. This heinous act of violence is an affront to humanity and a grave attack on the entire Body of Christ in Nigeria.

The recent attack on April 14, 2025, in Zikke, Kwall District of Bassa, Plateau State, resulting in the tragic loss of 51 lives, is deeply disturbing and alarming. The victims, ranging from young children to elderly individuals, were brutally targeted, leaving families and communities in mourning as Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) and the entire Christian community mourns during this Easter season.

  4. Compensation at all levels would have to commence immediately.
  5. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should urgently return home from France to face this problem of insecurity squarely.

The loss of these innocent lives is a stark reminder of the need for collective action to promote peace, security, and justice. The ongoing violence and killings of Christians in Nigeria have reached alarming levels, sparking widespread concern and outrage and would have to finally stop.

The attacks, often carried out by Islamist extremist groups, have resulted in the loss of countless lives, displacement of communities, and destruction of properties.
Together, let us make a difference and ensure that the killings stop by prevailing on the government of the day and the international community.

As we commensurate and pray with the families, the Church in Plateau State and the entire State, we urge all Christians and people of goodwill to join us in condemning this atrocity and demanding action from the government. We must stand together to promote peace, security, and justice for all.
