Shettima Chairs National Economic Council Meeting at Presidential Villa

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday chaired a session of the National Economic Council (NEC) held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting was attended by key members of the council, including the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.
Also in attendance were Governors Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Charles Soludo (Anambra), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), and Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo).
Rivers State was represented by its Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.).
By constitutional mandate, the NEC—chaired by the Vice President—advises the President on matters concerning the economy, including revenue allocation, economic planning, and policy implementation at the national level.
