Shettima Arrives Ekiti to Represent Tinubu, Flags Off Knowledge Zone Project
Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday arrived in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on a one-day working visit to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a series of official engagements in the state.
Shettima, who departed Abuja earlier in the day, was received at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport by Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other senior government officials.
As part of the visit, the Vice President is expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ), a project aimed at promoting innovation, technology, and economic development in the state.
He will also commission the newly completed zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located along Old Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti.
Another major highlight of the visit is the inauguration of the newly constructed 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi, Ado-Ekiti. The flyover is regarded as one of the flagship infrastructure projects of the Biodun Oyebanji administration.
The visit marks Vice President Shettima’s second official trip to Ekiti State since assuming office. In May 2024, he visited the state to inaugurate the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and launch the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic in Ado-Ekiti.
The projects scheduled for inauguration during the visit are expected to boost infrastructure development, improve institutional capacity, and strengthen economic growth in Ekiti State.
