She-Fix 2.0: NNPC Retail Champions Inclusion, Impact, Opportunities for Women

The NNPC Retail Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to gender inclusion and women’s empowerment with the successful hosting of the second edition of its flagship initiative, She-Fix 2.0, in Abuja.

The development was contained in a statement issued by Andy Odeh, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd.

Held under the theme “Driving Diversity, Powering Progress,” the event brought together over 300 women professionals, entrepreneurs, young technicians, and leaders across the energy sector, creating a vibrant platform for collaboration, learning, and opportunity.

In her keynote address, Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, emphasized that inclusion remains central to national development.

She called for increased access to opportunities for women, particularly in technical and STEM-related fields, while commending NNPC Retail for its foresight in promoting female participation.

The Minister also urged stronger partnerships between government and the private sector to expand the initiative’s impact.

Speaking at the event, Sophia Mbakwe, Executive Vice President, Business Services at NNPC Limited, highlighted the growing influence of women within the organization.

She noted that NNPC Retail, as the company’s primary interface with everyday Nigerians, plays a crucial role in embedding diversity across its operations.

Representing the Managing Director of NNPC Retail, Valentina Kojo stressed that women empowerment must go beyond rhetoric, calling for initiatives that are practical, visible, and sustainable.

According to him, women are not only leading change but also shaping the future of the industry, adding that organizations and societies thrive when women are empowered to lead.

Participants also benefited from networking opportunities and special product discounts, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting women across the energy value chain.

A high-profile panel session included industry leaders such as Emmanuella Arukwe, Maryamu Idris, Oremeyi Akah, Toyin Alasi, and Adaeze Nwakoby, who shared insights on leadership, innovation, and navigating challenges across sectors.

Building on the success of its inaugural 2025 edition in Lagos, She-Fix 2.0 marks a strategic expansion of the initiative. It reflects NNPC Retail’s sustained effort to create a platform that delivers measurable outcomes and long-term opportunities for women in Nigeria’s energy industry.
