Senator Sunday Katung defects from PDP to APC

Senator Sunday Katung, representing Kaduna South, has announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued on Saturday, Katung said the decision followed extensive consultations with his constituents, political stakeholders, family members, and associates.

He described the move as one of the most difficult yet necessary decisions of his political career, noting that the past few weeks had been marked by deep reflection and dialogue.

“The past few weeks have been both challenging and enlightening—filled with difficult conversations and thoughtful introspection,” he said.

Katung explained that his defection was motivated by a desire to better serve his people and ensure their voices are represented at the highest levels of governance.

“This realignment stems from a sincere commitment to serve my constituents more effectively and ensure their voices are heard and respected where key decisions shaping our collective future are made,” he added.
