Senate denies report that it plans to cripple Osinbajo’s government with scarcity of oil

The Nigerian Senate has denied allegations by Sahara Reporters that Senate president, Bukola Saraki, and oil marketers are planning to create massive oil scarcity.

According to the disturbing allegations, the Senate president has planned with oil marketers to stop supplying oil in order to create oil scarcity that will destabilize the government under Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

The Senate, however, referred to the allegation as “pure and unadulterated fake news.”

The Senate in a series of tweets on Wednesday, July 5 said: “This tweet from @SaharaReporters is pure and unadulterated fake news.

“The Senate President has worked hard to revive the economy and create opportunities for all Nigerians through the legislature.

“The Senate President would never cause such harm to the nation or the Nigerian people. Hence, this story has no iota of truth.”
