Sen. Raji-Rasaki hails Supreme Court’s judgment, congratulates President Tinubu, VP Shettima, APC
Former First Lady of Lagos, Sen. Fatimat Raji Rasaki has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and the All Progressives Congress, APC family over the verdict of the Supreme Court verdict that upheld the February 2023 presidential election.
Sen. Raji Rasaki in a statement issued and signed in Abuja after the Apex Court ruling in favour of the APC and its flag bearers in the general election, urged President Tinubu to operate an inclusive government where all the divides will have sense of belonging for the good of the nation.
She said the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the last election was once again legitimately laid to rest by the Supreme Court, adding that the divergence views in different quarters were dismissed while appeals of Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Atiku Abubakar are thrown out.
“It has been a hard-fought challenge from the electioneering stages to the Presidential tribunal and now, the Supreme Court verdict in favour of President Bola Tinubu, the Vice President Kashim Shettima and the APC , Mr. President, that you prevailed in all these challenges, confirmed your tenacity, love and acceptance by Nigerians. The apex Court verdict was a well-deserved one, considering your years of working for the entrenchment and strengthening of democracy in Nigeria. I am elated with the outcome, although not surprising because you defeated all the other candidates in the elections, this is so adoring.
“I can only charge Mr. Peter Obi of LP and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP and other candidates in the February 2023 general election to join hands and support the present administration to compliment the gains of democracy and bring the dividend to the electorates,” Sen. Raji Rasaki urged.
Sen. Raji Rasaki commended Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for providing the enabling level ground for all candidates from all the political parties that participated in the elections, while hailed the Judiciary for upholding the sanctity of truth, fairness and reaffirmed the confident Nigerians bequeath on them.
The former Lagos First Lady applauded the APC Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, all National executive Council and members across the country for the deserving victory, charging all party faithful to remain united and focused as the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President will address the plights of Nigerians as the administration of President Bola Tinubu is posed at fulfilling all campaigns promises.
