Sen. Dino Melaye officially parted ways with PDP
Former Senator for Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has officially parted ways with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter addressed to the chairman of his Ward 1 in Aiyetoro Gbede, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, and dated 4th of July 2025, Melaye cited the party’s lack of structure and effectiveness as key reasons for his decision.
He expressed disappointment over what he described as the PDP’s inability to offer meaningful solutions to the nation’s deep-rooted political issues, which he referred to as a “cankerworm” undermining Nigeria’s progress.
Melaye stated that the prevailing situation had made it morally difficult for him to continue active participation in the party. He, therefore, announced his immediate withdrawal from all party affairs and terminated his membership without delay.
