Robbers Raid Ogun NUJ Secretariat….Carted Away Church Muscial Equipment

Armed robbery gang has attacked Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre,the headquarters of Ogun State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ)in Abeokuta, carting away properties worth millions of naira.
The victims of the incessant attack are the tenants of the union, which include; a media consultancy firm, steppingstone communications, which lost two giant generators to the bandits in an interval of two months.
The latest at the secretariat which is a stone throw to the headquarters base of Mobile Police Force located at Oke-Ilewo area of the town was the raid of a church,Apostolic Revival World Centre located within the premises.
The church,Apostolic Revival World Centre, on Saturday lost it musical equipment and number of religious books to the bandits, who broke one of the windows before gaining access inside.
Also, a merchant fell victim of the marauders,having burgled his shop and carted away rolls of iron sheets worth millions of naira, while a popular food canteen known as Iwe-Iroyin food canteen equally lost food items, generating set,giant size storex tank, wines, stablizers and plasma television set to the robbers.
Similarly , the bar within the secretariat was not left out in the incessant attack, with the lost of number of plasma televisions and assorted alcohol drinks. The authority of the secretariat also fell victim to the bandits,having lost plasma television,as well as accessories of airconditioners in offices.and also number of chairs used inside the hall.
The General overseer of the church, Pastor Dele Adejuwon while speaking with our correspondent confirmed the incident on Sunday,saying the action of the bandits was ungodly.
He added further that, his prayer was that God should touch hearts of the bandits,just as he also expressed optimism that, the bandits would soon be arrested,as revealed to him by the Holy Spirit.
The clergyman said the case was reported at Ibara police station, adding that,the police had equally visited the scene for assessment.
However, findings by our correspondent also showed that, the press centre which share fence with the private residence of former of Head of Interim Government,Ernest Shonekan has become a regular target of operations for the bandits.
The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists,NUJ, Ogun State Chapter, Wole Shobunbi when contacted confirmed the incident, adding that report had been made to the police.
Meanwhile, it was also recalled that before the weeked operations a one-man gang armed robber, was recently apprehended at the centre, when he attempted to rob lodgers at the NUJ guest house. The suspect identified as serial robber at the police station has been charged to court,before another round of attack at the centre on Saturday
