Robbers Fled With Weapons As Police Arrests Two In Ogun

While carrying out a robbery operation at Malatori area, Ogijo, Ogun State police Command apprehended two members of a notorious robbery syndicate terrorizing Ogijo and its environs.
Information received from DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command indicated that they were arrested on Sunday, October 18th, 2020.
Oyeyemi, who gave the suspects names as Olaitan Olushola a.k.a Toshiba and Oluwajuwon Balogun said they were arrested following a distress call received at Ogijo divisional headquarters that the gang were operating at Ogijo where they were dispossessing residents of their valuables at gunpoint.
He said: “Upon the distress call, the DPO Ogijo division, CSP Muhammed Suleimon Baba quickly led his men to the scene where the two of them were apprehended while others escaped with some of their weapons.
“Recovered from the arrested two members of the gang were two battle axes. Two of their victims namely Idowu Kareem and Akinloye Raimi have identified the duo as members of the syndicate who dispossessed them of their phones at gunpoint.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP) Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.The CP also directed that the fleeing members of the gang be hunted for and brought to book.”
