Rivers LG Elections: Fubara Loses To APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in 20 out of the 23 local government areas in Saturday’s Chairmanship and Councillorship elections, according to results released by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

In contrast, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) managed to secure only three LGAs. Notably, Governor Siminalayi Fubara lost his own local government area, Opobo-Nkoro, to the opposition APC.

RSIEC Chairman, Dr. Michael Odey, announced the results on Sunday afternoon.
