Revolution Now Protest: Edo Police command station officers at strategic areas

Edo State Command, Nigeria Police Force on Monday positioned its officers at various strategic areas for fear of possible execution of the proposed Revolution Now protest scheduled across the country.

Visits across Benin City, Edo State capital by the correspondent gathered that stern looking policemen were sighted at Kings Square, Airport road, Sapele road and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Secretariat and many others places.

Similarly, report from the Edo Central especially at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma revealed that police vehicles manned by heavily armed officers were laying siege in conjunction with other security agencies patrolling the axis, while same scenario is said to be taken place at the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo North area.

At the NUJ secretariat and King Square, some of the officers who preferred names not in print expressed that it became necessary to forestall possible protest actually fixed for today all over the country.

They added that, though, there were no traces of such acts, but they were ready to  address any unholy acts that could add to the already tension in the state.
