Rep Kingsley Chinda ‘I win you win’ empowerment program on Monday graduated over 700 beneficiaries after skills acquisition training programme cutting across 12 different skills and various wards in Obio Akpor Federal Constituency of Rivers State.
This just happening barely one week after more than 700 qualified students got free JAMB forms.
The ‘I win you win’ empowerment program which started since 2014 in this particular session had skills acquisition training programme such as: Fashion & designing 2. Hair barbing 3. Hair dressing 4. Fascinator
5. Bead-making 6 Make-up artist 7 Phone repairs 8 Interior and exterior decoration
9 Shoe making 10 Allied products etc.
The training was for a combined period of about six month in six different centers beginning at Barchievers hotel Rumuogba where wards 4, 6, 7, 8, 14, & 17 were trained in December 2021, and from January – may 2022.
Training programs were held in five other centers namely, Romuodara for wards 1, 2, Elelenwo for ward 3, 5, Rumueprikom for ward 9, 10, 11, Rumuola for wards 12, 13, and lastly at Ozuoba for wards 15, 16.
Over 700 persons from the 17 wards of Obio/Akpor were trained in the 2021/2022 edition of the program and over 200 of them were successful and ready for graduation today.
Rep. O. K. Chinda promised that he will rather teach his people to fish than give them fish, this has motivated him to continually up grade this training programs year after year.
The 2021/2022 edition was carried out by six very reputable companies namely (1) tectonics (2) MAHACC (3) (4) Impaek Valley (5) Linka more and (6) Switsmiles were recruited under the supervision of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to carry out the Skills training programme and it was a huge success. and today, we are proud to inform you that this Programme has produced well over two thousand Successful candidates from inception and some of them are well established and doing well in their various fields of learning, and a number of them were involved and worked as teachers in the last training scheme.
Also worthy of note was our ICT training for professionals in November 2021, where 250 Lawyers, Engineers and Medical Doctors were trained and issued the latest model of the HP laptops to each of the 250 participants.
