Rat gets high on Indian hemp seized as exhibit in NDLEA’s office + Video

The Director of Media and Advocacy of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Femi Babafemi, has shared a video of a rat high on cannabis on social media.

According to Babafemi, the rat strayed into an exhibit storage room for cannabis in one of the agency’s command.

He said the rat began to misbehave some minutes after it strayed into the exhibit room on Friday.

The rat, which was under the influence of cannabis, was seen spinning repeatedly.

The spokesman noted that there is a message in the situation, while asking Nigerians to shun mind-altering substances.

He wrote: “Stray rat gets high on C/S: So this rat 🐀 on Friday strayed into the exhibit room where cannabis was stored in one of @ndlea_nigeria commands and few minutes after, it began to misbehave,

“Need I say more? The message is clear. #SayNoToMindAlteringSubstances#.”

Meanwhile, Cannabis is currently outlawed in Nigeria.

Though there are advocates for it to be legalised, the agency has said the risks outweigh the benefits.

The NDLEA had recently disclosed that though it is banned, cannabis is the most abused illicit drug in the country and it is currently being used by at least 10.6 million Nigerians.
