RAMADAN: SENATOR ADEOLA CALLS FOR PRAYER FOR NIGERIA TOWARD 2019 ELECTIONS

As the Muslim community worldwide begins the month long Ramadan religious obligation, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West) has urged all faithful to seriously pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria as well as a peaceful conduct of the upcoming 2019 electoral campaign for political offices.

In his message to the Muslim faithful, Senator Adeola said all adherent of the Islamic faith should use the month long fasting period to reflect on their lives and the true practice of the religion that preaches peace, good neighbourliness, brotherly love and non violence evangelism.

“ We must continually pray for our dear nation to continue on the path of peace, unity and progress.The the fasting period presents yet another opportunity for communal supplication to Almighty Allah for solution to our national challenges and  for wisdom for all leaders to do the right things in the sight of God and man” he stated.

He said it was a thing of joy that President Mohamadu Buhari is with us hale and hearty during this year Ramadan as that of last year was spent praying for the good health of the president then in United Kingdom for medical treatment adding that it is a proof that our prayers were answered.

Senator Adeola said he is hopeful that as Nigeria marks yet another milestone in its democratic journey during this Ramadan and heads for another round of election, prayers to Almighty Allah, the sacrifices of fasting by religious groups and diligent hard work will make Nigeria great again.
