PSC Approves AIG Auwal as POLAC Commandant

….Deploys Eight Commissioners of Police to State Commands

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Auwal Musa Mohammed as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano, alongside the deployment of eight Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands across the country.

The Commission said the postings were part of efforts to sustain operational effectiveness following the promotion of former state commissioners.

AIG Mohammed, who has over 33 years of policing experience, has served in operations, investigations, intelligence-led policing and training. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Bayero University. His previous appointments include Commandant of the Police College, Maiduguri, Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, and Assistant Inspector General in Zones 3 and 6. He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

The newly deployed Commissioners of Police are CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo to Abia State, CP Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau State, CP Saka Adewale Ajao to Bayelsa State, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to Cross River State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama to Anambra State, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo State, CP Tijani Murtala to Jigawa State, and CP Samuel Erale Etaifo to Delta State.

During the Commission’s meeting, Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (JSC, rtd), who presided over the session as Board Member and Honourable Commissioner I, urged the newly posted officers to remain professional, uphold the rule of law, and discharge their duties with neutrality and diligence.

The meeting was also attended by Board members Alhaji Abdulfatah Mohammed, Hon. Justice Christine Ladi Dabup (rtd), and the Secretary to the Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani.

The PSC expressed confidence that the appointments would strengthen policing and improve service delivery across the affected commands.
