President Tinubu to Induct Five New NAF Helicopters Before Saudi Arabia Trip
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to induct five new helicopters into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fleet on Thursday as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s air power and enhance the fight against insecurity.
The aircraft comprise two Airbus H125 helicopters and three Leonardo AW109 Trekker B helicopters, which are expected to boost the Air Force’s operational capacity in tackling security threats across the country.
The three AW109 Trekker B helicopters are part of a larger order of 10 aircraft, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026.
The induction marks another step in the Federal Government’s efforts to improve the operational readiness of the Nigerian Air Force and strengthen its capacity to support security operations nationwide.

Following the ceremony, Tinubu is expected to depart Abuja for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the spiritual exercise.
