President Tinubu hosts Shell CEO, Executives at State House
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received a delegation of Shell executives at the State House, Abuja, led by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wael Sawan.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Federal Government and Shell in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, with discussions centred on investment opportunities, energy security, and ongoing reforms in the industry. President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a stable and investor-friendly environment, particularly following the implementation of key policies under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

Mr. Sawan, in his remarks, commended the Nigerian government for its reform efforts and reiterated Shell’s long-standing partnership with Nigeria. He highlighted the company’s interest in sustaining investments, enhancing gas development, and supporting Nigeria’s energy transition goals.
The engagement also touched on issues of security of energy assets, host community relations, and Shell’s plans regarding its onshore and offshore operations in the country.
The meeting underscores the Tinubu administration’s ongoing engagement with major international energy companies as part of efforts to boost production, attract foreign direct investment, and reposition Nigeria’s energy sector for long-term growth.
