Police Arrests, Teargas Members of IMN In Abuja

Police on Wednesday arrested and dispersed followers Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigweria (IMN) with teargased.

The police also blockaded the road leading to the National Assembly through Federal Secretariat to prevent the protesters from passing through,  and some of the Shiite faithful arrested.

Our sources informed that the protesters stay some distance away from police teargas.

This development comes just as the European Union called for the immediate release of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) El-Zakzaky.

EU said the continued detention of the Shiite leader is a breach of fundamental human rights of El-Zakzaky as a Nigeria.
