Peter Obi Denies Viral Photos Allegedly Showing His Son with Same-Sex Partner

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has refuted the authenticity of viral images circulating online that claim to show his son, Oseloka Obi, with a male romantic partner.

The photos, which gained attention across social media platforms, show two men celebrating a birthday together, with one being referred to as the other’s partner.

A popular northern social media user on X, using the handle @Waspapping_, posted the images along with a caption implying that Peter Obi’s son was pictured with his partner. The post read:
“Peter Obi’s son and his partner are out there enjoying life, but Obidients will turn a blind eye. Well, congratulations to the soon-to-be couple.”
The post quickly went viral, sparking widespread discussion online.

In response, Obi’s spokesperson, Valentine Obienyem, issued a formal statement firmly denying the claim. Titled “Fake Picture, False Claim: Obi’s Integrity Remains Untouched,” the statement declared that the individual in the photos is not Obi’s son.

“The photo being circulated is not of Mr. Peter Obi’s son,” Obienyem stated. “After exhaustive efforts to dig up damaging material and finding none, these individuals have resorted to fabricating stories using unrelated images. Let it be known: the person in that photo is not his son. Those seeking scandal should look elsewhere.”

Peter Obi, who ran for president in 2023 under the Labour Party, is widely speculated to be preparing for another run in the 2027 elections.
