Peoples Daily Editor appointed Triumph MD

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has approved the appointment of Lawal Sabo Ibrahim as the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of the  Triumph Publishing Company.

Before his appointment, Malam Lawal Sabo was the Editor of Peoples Daily (weekend) newspaper in Abuja.

The New Managing Director, who holds a Master’s Degree in English Language from Bayero University, and a Bachelor’s from the University of Jos, worked with the Triumph Newspaper as Senior Reporter and assistant Group News Editor from 1998-2003. He also worked with Kano State Polytechnic as a Lecturer  from 2003-2009 when he moved to the Leadership newspapers as Deputy Editor and later Editor. He was also Kano Bureau Chief and Associate Editor at Blueprint as well as Editor at  National Trail Newspapers between 2009 and 2014.

Triumph Publishing Company  was unceremoniously closed down by Kwankwaso administration in 2012 though it’s staff were still drawing salaries.
