PDP delegates besiege bureau de change in Port Harcourt

The Bureau de change operators especially those located opposite Hotel Presidential Port Harcourt are having a hectic time attending to hundreds of customers suspected to be PDP delegates who are crowding around them to exchange money, Daily Trust reports.

It was gathered that one of the foreign exchange operator opposite Hotel Presidential, Musa Danladi, said he attended to more than 50 persons as of 4.00pm on Friday, October 5.

He said people suspected to be party delegates were approaching them in droves to exchange money.

“Since morning we have been attending to persons suspected to PDP delegates. They were coming in large number to negociate and exchange money from us. It has been a good business and I pray it will remain like this,” he said.

It was reported that the governor in an interview on Friday, October 5, said nobody no matter how influential can control the voting pattern of 36 states delegates and Abuja.

He said: “I have a right to vote as a delegate. But my influence is minimal. Those talking about this don’t have the facts. Are you saying that as governor of Rivers state, I will place a gun on the head of all delegates to vote a particular candidate.

“I cannot compel all the 14 governors to vote a particular aspirant. You mean you can change the views and opinions of all the states?” he said.
