PDP berates FG over N1.3trn projects in 2016
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has criticized the Federal Government over the said N1.3 trillion investments in 2016 on capital projects in the country.
PDP noted that there are no physical projects to justify the claims, adding that if such amount was used for capital projects that there wouldn’t have been infrastructural decay in the country.
The Publicity Secretary of PDP in Rivers State, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, stated this in Aluu community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state yesterday when over 200 supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defected to the PDP.
Nwanosike urged the Federal Government to be truthful to the people, stating that there are no such projects in the Niger Delta, even as he expressed sadness over the deplorable state of the East-West road.
The PDP spokesman said: “The Federal Government said they have spent N1.3 trillion on capital projects. We want to see one project done with the money. The people of Niger Delta are not feeling impact of the said amount.
“The East-West road which is the major road in the Niger Delta has been abandoned. People cannot travel freely on it. They should show us one project done with the money. In 2019 people should vote out APC and put PDP because they are a party of deceit.”
Nwanosike, who also noted that the Governor of the state, Chief Nyesom Wike, is concerned on giving projects to people of the state added: “Aluu road has been awarded for construction. The road was awarded in two phases. Work has commenced on the first phase, which is Rumuekini-Aluu road, when that is completed, work will start on Aluu-Omuagwa road. Governor Nyesom Wike is not afraid of working for Rivers people.”
