Pastor Isaac Oyedepo launches Abuja Sunday services, says ministry will not collect offerings
Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, founder of Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries, has announced the commencement of Sunday worship services in Abuja, stating that the ministry will not collect offerings in obedience to what he described as a divine directive.
The development was disclosed in an online message monitored by Church Times and shared in a video posted on Sunday, January 11.
In the message, Oyedepo explained that the central mission of the ministry is discipleship and the spiritual formation of believers, stressing that its mandate is to equip people to genuinely follow the teachings of Jesus rather than focus on financial contributions.
He said he had received clear instructions from God not to receive offerings during the services. Although he acknowledged that offering collection is a common and acceptable practice in many churches, he noted that his ministry’s assignment requires a different approach.
According to him, the emphasis for Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries is strictly on nurturing spiritual growth and strengthening faith.
The announcement came as the ministry officially launched its weekly Sunday services in Abuja.
