Panic In Ogun As Unknown Gunmen Stray Bullets Hit Building

There was palpable fear and confusion in Ikopa-Titun area, Abeokuta South local government area, as stray bullets from unknown gunmen landed right inside a bungalow building in the area on Wednesday, May 20th, 2020.

Speaking on the incident, the residents of the building which is a stone throw to Maltilda Secondary School said that the stray bullets caught them unaware reason and could not ascertain the source.

Deborah Oloyede, who spoke on behalf of other residents said: “We were just sitting down here in the compound, to enjoy fresh air, when at about 6.30pm, a strange object landed in the compound, and in curiosity to know what it was, we moved closer only to realise it was a pellet.

“Following this shocking development, we became restless and worried, as we couldn’t believe our eyes nor where the shot emanated from as well as reason for the house as a target.

“I immediately ran to the police station at Obantoko to make a report, and the authority said, investigation into the sudden development will commence in earnest.”

Meanwhile, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi when contacted confirmed the incident, assuring that the authorities will commence investigation without further delay.
