It will be celebration galore in Ogun State as the usual weekend parties across the state are back just as Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has lifted ban on weekend movement in the state.

Ogun State citizens well known for organising various categories of parties ranging from marriage ceremony, naming ceremony, burial, house warming and many others are expected to reschedule them now that the weekend lockdown caused by the Coronavirus pandemic is over.

Governor Abiodun in his statement on update and efforts to combat covid-19 pandemic read on friday 14th august, 2020 emphasised that since worship centres are open for activities, the restrictions on weekends are lifted.

He however warned that limitation on social gatherings not exceeding 20 people at any place at the same time is still very much in force.

He stressed: “Let me say that now that our worship centres are open for activities, the restrictions on weekends are lifted, but the limitation on social gatherings not exceeding 20 people at any place at the same time is still very much in force.

“Other measures still in place include: Observation of dusk-to-dawn curfew as directed by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) i.e. between 10.00pm and 4.00am daily; wearing of face masks in the public is compulsory and failure to do so is punishable.”
