Osun Government To Partner Milk Producing Company

Hon. Adedayo Adewole, Commissioner for Agriculture and food Security in Osun State has revealed state government readiness to partner with milk producing giant, Friesland Campinas Wamco (FCW) through dairy project development activities.
Adedayo disclosed this during a stakeholders meeting held in Osogbo, where he hinted that FCW collaboration with the ministry will boost the economy of the state and agriculture business.
Earlier in his remarks, the Senior Dairy Extension Manager, Akinade Adebayo stressed that FCW is a producer of milk brand in Nigeria which intends to source for 1.5 millilitre of milk in the state to process into high quality product.
He added that the company is ready to work with the ministry to explore and develop the dairy value chain to source for raw milk from potential milk producers in the state.
Akinade further stated that they were in the state purposely to source for raw milk from Fulani farmers, knowing fully well that the importation of foreign milk into the country has been banned.
He added that they were in Osun to develop the dairy sector in the state, and they are ready to support these farmers by giving them training and also following them up to ensure that they are getting maximum yield from their business.
He also urged the agric ministry to really expand their scope of coordination of the milk and ensure that it is a win-win situation for the farmers in the state and FCW.
