Osun Commissioner Seeks Reallocation Of Unused Land To Other Users

Farm settlers in Osun State have been urged to release unused parts of the land earlier allocated to them by the government, especially marshy area.
This would enable the government to embark on re-allocation exercice to other settlers and teaming youths in the state to pave the way for massive and aggressive propagation of agriculture business.
Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Adedayo Adewole made this call during meeting with Presidents of Supreme Council of Each Farm Settlement( COSFASAS ) and Farm Settlement Officers, held at the Ministry in Abere.
Hon. Adewole remarked on the need to encourage youths in farming business in the area of providing land to cultivate farm produce so that food would be in abundance in the state.
Speaking earlier, the Special Adviser to Governor on Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Abiodun Ajiisefini equally stressed that the farmers should not lose faith and focus because government of the day is trying all it could to satisfy farmers and enhance agric business in the state.
Abiodun stressed further that security of lives and properties is very paramount to the government, adding that resolving security challenges is collective responsibilities of both government and the people. “Government alone cannot do it.”
One of the farmers representing Ila farm settlement, Chief Elemona Razaki Adedayo commended the commissioner and special adviser describing them as round pegs in round holes for being chosen as commissioner and special adviser.
He used the medium to seek for government assistance in the area of marketing for farm produce after harvest and that there should be a fixed price for farm produce in the state.
In the same vein, the former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties, who represented Esa-Oke farm settlement, Adewumi Adelowo also sought for government support in the area of good accessible road to their farm settlement, soil test, and provision of market for farm produce
Adewumi stressed that farm settlement farmers are ready to work with the state government and that anything that would make government to realise its objective, the farm settlers are ready to do it.
In his own response, Managing Director Osun Land Bank, Mr Oladipo appreciated farm settlers for the meeting  which steers harmony and agreement with the government for adequate enhancement and propagation of agric business in the state.
