Osun Commissioner Distributes Food Items To 1,200 Vulnerable Persons

A total of 1,200 vulnerable persons in Ilesa East Local Government Area, Osun State have benefited from palliatives measures distributed by Hon Adedayo Adewole, the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security.
The food items distributed on Tuesday was done to complement the efforts of Governor Gboyega Oyetola towards cushioning the effect of COVID-19 lockdown on the people of the state.
In a statement by Segilola Babalola, Press Officer in the ministry remarked that among the food items distributed were rice, beans, egg to mention but few, while the commissioner also use the occasion to mark the birthday of Professor Isaac Adewole, the former Minister of Health.
Hon. Adewole carried out the distribution of the food items at Iroye, Ilesa East area to widows, widowers , vulnerable and aged people in the council and even beyond.
He urged the people of the area to stay safe and obey all the COVID- 19 precautions and the rules guiding the lockdown as directed by the State Government and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
However, he advised that the people of Ilesa should plan beyond COVID-19 period by embracing farming business so that they might have food in abundance.
Hon. Commissioner equally used the occasion to urge other private individuals, and corporate bodies to also cultivate the idea of providing succour to the down trodden and other less privileged in the society that need urgent assistance.
Speaking earlier, one of the leaders of the community at Fadahunsi Community , Ilesa, Mr. Kunle Odeyemi appreciated the spirited efforts of Adewole who has always been living to expectations as a good ambassador of Ijesa land.
He added that he was not surprised by his attitude because the choice of his personality as commissioner in the ministry in Osun is a round peg in a round hole.
In their separate appreciation, Mrs. Rachel Alatise and Mrs. Elizabeth Kolawole of Iroye community appreciated Adewole for his kind gesture to bring succour to the people of Ilesa and prayed that God shall elevate him to greater height and protect all his entire family members.
