Onu wants research findings commercialised

Research findings if commercialised by the organised private sectors will bring about economic  advancement and global power in Nigeria.
The Minister of Science and technology Dr.  Ogbonnaya Onu stated this while commissioning an Administrative Building of  Sheda Science and Technology (SHETSCO) Complex,  in     Kwali Area Council, Abuja, Nigeria.
Dr. Onu also call on private sectors to to come and take interest in the numerous and important research findings that are going on in our research Agencies and Institution all over the country.
“Nigeria is a blessed Nation, we have all the abundance of natural resources. There is hardly any mineral resources that we do not have.
Nigeria have intelligent youths you can find and have available Land which other Nations don’t have and also abundant resources in the South and Northern part of the country. He said.
“God gave Nigeria everything in abundance to be a great nation. It is left for Us the citizens to convert all these good resources  into products and services that the country needs. He emphasized “
The Minister also thanked the Emir of Kwali and the entire community people for providing the land and appealed to them to protect the properties in the institute.
 “I will be pleased that adequate security is provided for the protection of this world class equipments”
He said that Nigeria is a blessed country with natural resources therefore should convert this into products and services that will development the country
On his part, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Bitrus Bako Nabasu, praised the Minister for his great contribution to revamping Science and technology and innovation to enhance industrialization in Nigeria.
He also commenced the Agency for the completion of the complex after a  long delay and inadequate funding.
Earlier the Director-General of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex, Professor Sunday Thomas, commended the President Mihammadu Buhari’s  Administration for the allocations for the completion of the building.
“The building you are about to commission, Honourable Minister, has apart Staff Offices, provision for a medium size conference room, a crèche for our working nursing mothers and a mini clinic for handling of emergency health cases” he said.
“Furthermore it has also been construction to be friendly to persons living with disabilities as they will be able access to all floors of the building via a well construction ramp”
Professor Sunday also commenced the Honourable Minister of Science and technology Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, for his tremendous contribution to the various agencies under Ministry and believed that the legacy he will live behind will live on.
The Sheda Science and Technology Complex is a Parastatal under the agies of the Federal Ministry of Science and technology, established by Act No. CAP. S.5 (formerly as decree No. 95 of 1993) as a multidisciplinary Research and Development Centre.
The Complex was established for the purpose of enabling institution and individual to undertake a wide range of research and development in a comprehensive and organized manner.
The Complex is also to house facilities whereby there will be concentration of sophisticated and modern equipment for research and development involving the highest level of technology in one location.
