Onu calls on Nigerians to embrace science as a way of life

The minister of science and technology Dr Ogbonaya onu has called on Nigerians to embrace science  and make it a way of life.

Speaking at the world science day ,with the theme tagged “open science leaving no one behind” Onu said no Nigerian should be left behind ,adding that every Nigerian must benefit from the nation.

“The nature of life must improve. Every Nigerian is a scientist because we are all innovative”.
Emphasizing on the importance of the world science day , Onu reiterated that the country is interested in breeding a new generation of business  men and women who will be interested in growing science and technology since Nigeria has gone past lagging behind scientifically.
Encouraging the students present, he enjoined them on the importance of science in the growth of the nation since the future of Nigeria belongs to them .

He said ” The centre of human development has been moving from one country to the other .  with young determined scientist, we can improve and over take, and increase the wealth of the nation and create wealth for all Nigerians.
Earlier, in a lecture delivered at the event by Dr Enang  Moma of UNESCO highlighted some grey areas where science has been of benefit to mankind from its evolution to present day.

Expressing her dismay in  the gender parity in science and technology , Moma call for immediate measure to be taken in that regard.
Science students from selected schools displayed some science projects to commemorate the event.
