Onochie Sparks Outrage After Calling Tinubu “Idiot” in Social Media Post

Former Special Adviser to late President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has stirred controversy after referring to President Bola Tinubu as an “idiot” in a post shared on her social media handle.

Onochie made the remark on Monday via her X (formerly Twitter) account, where she defended Buhari’s role in Tinubu’s emergence as president.

“There’s NO WAY @officialABAT would have become President without Pres. Buhari’s full support. We were all instructed to mobilise for him. Now his idiots say he overpowered Baba Buhari. #Ingrates,” she wrote.

In the same post, Onochie also took a swipe at Tinubu’s supporters, suggesting they were ungrateful for Buhari’s backing during the 2023 election. She further hinted at political resistance ahead of the next general elections.

“We are waiting for him to overpower us in 2027. May I politely add that 2027 elections will be free, fair and credible. Take it from me,” she added.

The statement has since generated mixed reactions online, with supporters and critics weighing in on the growing tensions within political circles linked to the ruling party.
