Olu Falae is the new Chairman, Afenifere NEC
The Pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, has appointed Oba Olu Falae—former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Olu of Ilu-Abo in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State—as the chairman of its National Executive Committee.
This decision was announced during the group’s monthly meeting, held at the Akure residence of its national leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti. At the meeting, Afenifere also reaffirmed its call for the restructuring of Nigeria and voiced concerns over the country’s growing insecurity and other pressing issues.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, said that the appointment of Oba Falae was made by Pa Fasoranti to help reposition the organization.
“Oba Falae’s appointment is aimed at revitalizing Afenifere and steering the House of Oduduwa back on course to effectively champion the Yoruba cause,” Ajayi stated.
