Okpuno, Solomon win IGCC Independence Day Golf Kitty

Gabriel Okpuno and Joy Solomon have emerged winners at the Independence Day Golf Kitty held at Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC), Asaba, Delta State capital on Tuesday.
The golf kitty sponsored by the club featured a total of thirty golfers was part of the activity to celebrate the country 59th independence anniversary at the club.
Okpuno, handicap 16, played a net score of 78 to win the men’s category while the duo of Alex Joe and Ibrahim Khalil settled for second and third position respectively.
Similarly, in the ladies category, Solomon proved her worth in the game when she recorded 78 net, off handicap 15 to beat the likes of Florence Onukwu and lady captain, Prinye Obuaya to first and second runner-up accordingly.
However, Peter Iweze playing handicap 15 was at his best in the veteran category with a net score of 84 just as Ike Oduah picked the second place ahead of Chike Onukwu, who settled for third position.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of prizes to all those who excelled at the kitty, while entertainment and cutting of independence cake by members was held later on.
