Ohaneze World Wide inaugurates executives for Abuja chapter
Ohaneze Nd’Igbo General Assembly World – Wide (ONGAWW) has last Saturday inaugurated executives that will take mantle of leadership of the Association in Abuja the nation’s capital.
Among others, the position of the Association’s president, secretary and youth leader in Abuja went to Chiefs Solomon Onyekwere, Obi Rex Nwosu and Comrade Chukwudubem Nnebedum respectively.
In a message to the newly inaugurated officers, the President – General (PG) of the Association, Barr Basil Onyacholam Onuora advised the inaugurated executives to reach out to Nd’Igbo in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and unite them, saying that unity is sacrosanct to the tribe, just as he added that he was sure that the crop of people inaugurated would deliver with the reason that they have passion for Nd’Igbo.
He said: “For some time now, the Abuja chapter of Ohaneze hasn’t been in existence and we implore the newly inaugurated leaders to reach out to every Igbo person in Abuja. As you know, FCT is the central base and one of the cardinal areas, among which the Association has high expectations.
“Today we are mandating them to reach out to our people to ensure that Nd’Igbo are no more divided in FCT and that they are united and from today Nd’Igbo can speak with one voice and from today that Nd’Igbo can show with sincerety that unity has come to stay.”
Responding to questions, the newly inaugurated FCT president, Sir Solomon Onyekwelu (KSC) promised among others, to galvanised and unite the waring groups of Nd’Igbo in the name of Ohaneze in FCT, believing that with unity, Ndigbo will move to the next level.
In further response to questions on any position be had ever held and excelled to assure Nd’Igbo that he will deliver, Onyekwelu said he delivered in all the positions be held; among which were: PG of his community in Ideani, Anambra state for two tenures. He informed that among others, he constructed roads and gutters to avert erosion within his community; president of CKC Old Boys Association, where he said he was assessed to have performed wonderfully well; chairman, the Action Alliance, Anambra state chapter.
He advised Nd’Igbo to forget the issue of restructuring, come together and go for presidency in 2023, adding that it is not only actualisabe, but also realisable for the next president of Nigeria to come from the south eastern part of the country.
The National Woman leader of the group, Mrs Chinwe Dike promised to bring in the women into the Association, even as she said with God and involvement of the women in the fold, the Association would have its aims and objectives realised.
