Ogun SWAN Condemns Killing Of Remo Stars Player By Police, Describes It Shameful, Cruel

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State chapter has outrightly condemned the killing of the assistant captain of Remo Stars FC, Tiamiyu Kazeem by an Officer of Anti-cultism Operatives of the Nigerian Police.

SWAN Chairman, Hakeem Akintunde stated this on Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital as he described the police brutality as inhumane, wicked and shameful of law enforcement agency who should protect lives and property of its citizens.

He said “We received the news of Kazeem Tiamiyu, a player with Remo Stars FC killed by an Officer of Anti-Cultism Operatives of the Nigerian Police with rude shock and disbelief.

“The young promising, but talented defender would not have died untimely if the police officers were professional and disciplined enough to determine a suspect from criminal.

“We commiserate with the family of the deceased player and called on the Inspector General of Police to ensure the indiscpline officer face the wrath of law.”
