OGUN SET TO TRANSFORM TRADE FAIR COMPLEX TO WORLD CLASS STATUS

Ogun State Government has concluded arrangements  to transform it’s  trade fair complex located in Abeokuta to world class status. The complex was named after the laate business mogul, Chief Moshood Abiols.
The revelation was made known on Wednesday by‎ President of Og‎un State Chambers Council of Commerce,Industry,Mines and Agriculture, Ogunccima, Adesola Adebutu  at a  press conference in preparation for the 8th Gateway Tradefair scheduled to hold between 17th-26th May,2017 in the town
Adebutu said part of the move of government in transforming the trade fair complex named after late Moshood Abiola, was collaborating with the chambers to stage the fair,which he said the Governor,Ibikunle Amosun has approved
Her words ‘I can tell you that Ogun State Government is 200percent in support. I am happy to inform you that the collaboration between Ogunccima and the Ogun State Government was approved by the Governor of Ogun State,His Excellency,Senator Ibikunle Amosun’
She said the approved theme for the trade fair is ‘Promoting Agriculture Value Chain Through SMES For Nigeria Economic Recovery’,just as she added that companies‎ domiciled in Brazil, Cote D’Ivoire and other foreign countries have indicated their interest to participate in theTrade Fair
In similar vein, Adebutu disclosed‎ that about 430 private companies operating in the state will also partake in the fair while the Bank of Industry and the Bank of Agriculture would provide loan facilities for farmers.
The Commerce boss further explained that,the trade fair has been scheduled to hold when the National Association of Chambers of Commerce,Industry,Mines and Agriculture,NACCIMA, will be holding it’s 57th Annual General Meeting/Conference and installation of new president of the asssociation.
‘The trade fair will hold during the period the National Association will be holding it 57th Annual General Meeting/Conference,and the installation of a female National President of Naccima’
‘The current first Deputy National President of Naccima,our own indefatigable Iyalode Alaba Lawson, will be installed as the first female National President of Naccima’
She said the fair will be held in a clean and tidy surrounding,and constant electricity,adequate water supply,stand-by medical team,security,and all other utilities that will make the trade fair comfortable,convinient and memorable for both exhibitors and visitors.
Also speaking,the commissioner of commerce,Bimbo Ashiru  who spoke through the Director of Commerce at the ministry, Mr. Kayode Ogunti, added that the fair would boost various sectors in the state including tourism, hospitality and transportation and subsequently enhance the economy of the state.
