OGUN SEALED CLINIC FOR CAUSING DEATH OF 24 YEAR OLD MAN
Ogun State Government on Thursday said it has ordered the closure of a private clinic for causing the death of a 24 year twin,Kehinde Sikiru through illegal surgical operation.
The affected cilinic located in Itori area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state is Glorious Ona Ara Clinic and Maternity Home.
Confirming the closure,Commissioner of Health, Dr Babatunde Ipaye said the disclosure was carried out by Ministry of Health Monitoring team at Itori Odo in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state following a tip off by concerned citizens.
‘We have received so many calls, petitions and complains from good people of the state on that particular hospital, performing illegal operations against the licence approved for the facility’,Ipaye said.
The Commissioner added that it has been a standing order that patience with complications or complicated issues be immediately referee to the nearest general hospital for better treatment.
He expressed lamentation over the loss of the patient, as a result of the illegal operation carried out on him, stating that it was against the medical profession that Maternity Home, Mission Home and Traditional Birth Attendants injecting or preforming operation on their patience as they are not licence to do so.
Ipaye prayed that God grant the family the strength to bear the irreparable lost,just as he further warned that any health facilities found operating beyond the approved limit of their licence would be shut and their registration certificate withdrawn.
The commissioner said, the owner of the clinic would soon be charge to,adding such illegality would not strive in the state,as government is determined to address the menace
