Breaking: OGUN RADIO WORKERS BEGIN STRIKE OVER ‎UNPAID N148MILLION ENTITLEMENTS

Staff of Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation(OGBC) on the early hours of Wednesday began an indefinite strike over non-challance of management towards payment of their entitlements.
The workers had earlier gave two seperate warning notice of 21, 7 and 3 days respectively for the management to pay the entitlement put at   N148,260,000 ‎,but the management ignored payment and the threat.
However, as early as 4.30am the aggrieved workers led by their leaders,Abiodun Ogundipe(Chairman‎ Nigeria Union of Journalists,NUJ), and Ayo Aina(ChairmanRadio Television and Theater Arts Workers Union,RATTAWU) stormed the station and locked the gate.
The locked gate was said to be the commencement of the strike, as the management staff and General Manager of the station were unable to to gain access to their offices.
As at the time of this report, the management had also contacted the police on the development, while a team of police already deployed to the station premises to avoid any violence as the strike lasted
Speaking with our correspondent, Abiodun Ogundipe( NUJ Chapel Chairman) and Ayo Aina(Chapel RATTAWU Chairman) declared that,there was no going back on the strike until when management met their demands.
It would be recalled that,the‎  analysis has it that,the unpaid monies include; outstanding salaries for four months(N76.8m),pension deductions from 2012 to date(N45m),outstanding union dues for 2017(N464,000.00),national housing fund deductions for 2013 to date(N2m) and CTCS deduction of 2011-2016(N6m)
‘We would appreciate if the following demands are met for industrial harmony;(a) payment of outstanding salaries for four months at N76.8m, (b)payment of pension deductions from 2012 to date which is over N45m‎(c) payment of outstanding union dues for year 2017 at N464,000.00(d) National Housing Fund deductions of 2013 to date of over N2m(e) OGBC CTCS deduction of 2011-2016 of over N6m’,the unions emphasised
