Ogun PDP Crisis: Engr. Dayo Orchestrating Attack On Me, My Supporters – Kashamu Petitions Police
By ABIODUN JIMOH, ABEOKUTA
The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State between the two bigwigs, Senator Buruji Kashamu group and Hon. Ladi Adebutu group has taken a new dive in the annals of the state political terrain.
This could be attested to as Senator Buruji Kashamu petitioned the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson over a case of impersonation, forgery, threats to life and attempt to cause chaos and breach of public peace in the state through the activities of Engr. Adebayo Dayo and his cohorts.
This petition being third in its series is sequel to his earlier petitions dated April 16th and 20th, 2020 respectively against Engr Dayo, the suspended Chairman of PDP in Ogun State, wherein he levelled allegations of threats to life, absconding and fraudulent conversion of properties belonging to his entities and the additional information about him.
Senator Kashamu in the petition dated April 28th, 2020 urged the CP to invite Engr. Dayo and his cohorts, investigate the allegations against them and if found culpable, charge them to court for impersonation, forgery, threats to life and acts capable of breaching public peace.
Kashamu, who fully narrated names and contacts of those involved in the atrocities with proofing facts before him remarked that it has become imperative to bring to the CP attention further developments since he petitioned the suspended chairman, Engr. Dayo.
He said: “The petitions were submitted to the Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force and the Divisional Police in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State (See Annexures 1A, 1B & 2). Already, the division invited him and he has made statement for which they have recovered three out of the four vehicles reported to it. The fourth vehicle is a big Toyota Sienna space bus that he has reportedly sold and the police are still investigating the matter.
“Following the invitations by the police in Ijebu-Igbo and the fact that he is aware that Zone 2 headquarters of the police has commenced investigation of the allegations levelled against him in my petitions, Engr. Dayo began to boast that he would write petitions everywhere to allege all manner of unfounded claims.
“In what is clearly an afterthought and a belated counter-move meant to divert attention from the weighty allegations against him, he told people that he has written petitions to the Ogun State Command of the State Security Service (SSS), alleging threat to his life, and that he would teach me the lesson of a life time.
“He want to use the petitions to protect himself and cover his criminal antecedents and actions as a case of alibi in order to assassinate me. You may wish to call for the statement he made to the Police at the Divisional Police Office in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State in order to identify the missing links and his belated moves and after thoughts.”
While exposing on the bone of contention in the petition, he wrote: “About four weeks to the end of his second term as state Chairman, Dayo decided to betray us and purportedly sold 65% of the party structure to Hon. Ladi Adebutu (a.k.a Lado) for N100 million under the disguise of reconciliation. He kept the remaining 35% for himself.
“This is the same Adebutu that signed a three-year agreement with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in March, 2019. The agreement is still valid for two years and has not been renounced up till now. (The MOU is marked as aAnnexure 3a while engr. adebayo dayo’s interview on Lado TV is saved in a cd and marked as Annexure 3b).
“Negotiating and handing over the structure of the party to people who have executed an agreement with another party and disparaging the leadership of the party in the media without the buy in of all the stakeholders is clearly anti-party (i.e. against the interest of the party).
“One of those he confided in and tried to convince to join him in the venture is Samuel Olayinka Soneye that Ladi Adebutu offered him N100Million to sell the PDP structure
