Ogun PDP Conducts LGAs Congresses

By ABIODUN JIMOH, ABEOKUTA

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter has conducted congresses across all the twenty local government areas in the state.

The Adebayo Dayo led PDP Exco in compliance with the state government directives, maintained a statutory number specified at the gathering while the processes were held accordingly without any rancour.

Addressing journalists after the congress, Barrister Mrs. Abimbola lanre-Balogun, the Acting Secretary of Ogun State PDP hinted that there was a good turn out from the delegates to elect their local governments executives that would pilot the affairs for the next four years.

The secretary, who had gone round some councils disclosed that congresses went on smoothly without any hitch across the state, adding that they have been posting their local governments election results to the secretariat.

She said: “My message to our people is that they should be steadfast. This is Adebayo Dayo led PDP exco in Ogun State, and that is why we are conducting these congresses, because we are the authentic executive to hold it, and that is what we are doing.

“There is a process of continuation and am sure in a couple of weeks we will come back together and say that yes PDP is doing well in Ogun State.

“Because we know that the government said that there should not be more than fifty congregation in any place. So that is what we are trying to do, we have harmonized and taught the people coming from ward by ward, we have twelve wards.

“And if you look at it, we have between 37 and 40 to conduct at various centres, so we are compliant. Before embarking on election, they use hand sanitizers and when they came, they keep their distances from each other, and am sure nobody shook hands, today we have all been waving to each other. By this, we are Covid-19 compliant.”
