Ogun Government Establishes OGWAMA For Cleaner Environment

As part of aspirations to have a clean and healthy environment suitable for habitation and industrialisation, Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) has been established by the state government to meet this yearnings.
This will improve waste disposal and management across the state in line with the Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration initiative to make the state beautiful and adorable to live in.
Mr. Ola Oresanya, Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment (Waste Management), discloses this in an interactive session with waste managers on the modus operandi of the new agency in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
Oresanya, while addressing them on the expectation of the agency emphasised that henceforth waste managers in the state must have at least two compatibles, evidence of three years tax payment to the state government, and valid registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
Furthermore, the special adviser also made it known that the agency would partner with contractors and investors in the sector for optimal performance, as they would be fully start operation in January.
Moreover, he appealed to the waste managers to be up and doing in attaining the state government is determination to have a clean, healthy and prosperous environment through the newly established waste management authority.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Director, Waste in the agency, Mr. Akinbode Sofela urged the waste managers to cooperate with the state government in her desire to rid the state of all form of wastes either public, commercial or industrial.
