Ogun Government Assures Of Investing In Health Sector At Grassroots Level

Ogun State Government has given assurance that it would continue to invest in the healthcare system and upgrading of the health sector particularly at the grassroots, where it has a direct impact on the masses.
Chairman, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board, Chief Nurudeen Olaleye disclosed this while declaring open a day workshop for the state National Mission Birth Attendant and Health Workers Association of Nigeria held at NSCDC College, Abeokuta.
Chief Olaleye, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Kafayat Lawal at the programme tagged ‘Current Trends in Antenatal Care, Labour and Child Deliver’ said that the present administration would not relent in its stride to bring quality and affordable healthcare services to the doorstep of the people.
He remarked: “This agency is not created to condemn or criticise any of the existing group of the practitioners, but to bring all together under one umbrella, so that the agency can help the government in controlling and register in order to create a database for proper identification that will differentiate you from quacks.”
In her address, the National President of the Association, Revd. (Dr.) Elizabeth Quadri expressed confident of the present administration’s support, assuring that the association would comply with all government’s directives.
Quadri hereby commended the effort of Governor Dapo Abiodun for his ingenuity to establish the board, and in ensuring the general wellbeing of the people.
