Ogun Denies Demolishing Dangote Cement Factory

Ogun State Government has denied demolishing Structures belong to Dangote Cement.

There reports that  Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Monday  directed that the ongoing construction of the Dangote cement factory at Oluke village in Ewekoro local government be demolished.

According to our sources, the demolition team which was led by the commissioner for community development Mr Gbenga Ademosun arrived at the site of construction yesterday with a team of mobile policemen numbering 20 and various earth moving equipment.

But in a telephone conversation with Daily Dispatch, Commissioner for Physical Planning Ogun State Mrs Ronke Sokefun denied the allegation, saying ” all I knows is that there was an illegal structures been put in place in the area and that was what was demolished”

She, however wondered why the demolition was attached to Dangote Cement adding that, “am sure if go there you will see Dangote factory standing”.

Sources close to Ogun State informed that even the intervention of the former President Obasanjo couldn’t save the demolition of structures and high end equipment procured for the factory as the Governor told the President he wasn’t aware of such moves.
Information gathered revealed that the Governor through a proxy requested for a kickback of N4bn from Aliko Dangote before he could allow such construction to go ahead.
This similar situation happened between the Governor and Dangote at the Olokola FTZ where the Governor demamded for 40% equity share of the proposed Dangote Refinery and petrochemical.
This made Aliko Dangote move it’s refinery to Lagos FTZ. Upon completion, it will be the biggest refinery in sub saharan Africa with a daily production of 650,000 barrels/day.
Efforts to get Dangote Spokesman proved abortive as he did not pick his calls
