OGUN CUSTOMS SEIZES ‎GOODS WITH N464MILLION DUTY PAID VALUE UNDER TWO MONTHS

The Ogun State Command of Nigeria Customs Service,(NCS), said it has made seizure of goods and materials with  Duty Paid Value of N464million under two months.
This disclosure was made by Area Commander,Sanni Madugu made at a press conference held at command headquarters in Abeokuta,stating that the seizures was between September and October.
He said the goods and commodities include;‎ 53 units of vehicles, 4,314 bags of rice,294 of 25 litres each of vegetable oil,6,360 cartons of frozen poultry products,26 units of motorcycles,21 imported sugar of 50kg each,46 packs of canabis,3 bales of second hand clothing and 300 second hand footwear.
The Customs boss also gave specifications of some of the seized Tokunbo vehicles as; Toyota Highlander 2013 model, Lexus Es 350 saloon car 2007 model,Passat Station Wagon 1997 model and Suzuki Mini bus 2013 model‎.
Others include;Ford focus Station Wagon 2000 model,Toyota Camry 2012 model,Toyota Corola 2011 model,Toyota Camry 2009 model and Scania Container Truck‎.
Madugu while further speaking said the command would not relent in efforts to fight smugglers to barest level,stressing that,the command was always step ahead of their antics.
‘We have re-engineered our men, we are always a step ahead of them,and we run 24 hours of operation. We will continued to fight smugglers,and we are going to reduce smuggling to barest minimum’,he stated
He emphasised further that, smugglers would not have hiding place in Ogun State,just as he appealed to well meaning residents to always provide useful information to to the command
