Ogun Athletes In Camp, Set For S/West Para-Powerlifting Championship

Atmosphere at the Ijebu Ode camp of Ogun State contingent for the maiden edition of South-West Para-Powerlifting Developmental Championship has been very high, and filled with lots of enthusiasm from athletes.
This was made known to Daily Dispatch by Sanusi Lateef, media officer to Ogun State Para-Powerlifting Association in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital. 
He stated that the state contingent comprising of 30 athletes, five coaches, five medical officials, five spotters and five helpers are currently camping at Otunba Dipo Dina International stadium, Ijebu Ode.
He expressed that the athletes have been undergoing rigorous training under the tutelage of their coaches since on Sunday in preparation for the championship themed ‘Using sports to eliminate street begging’, they are expected to leave the camp on Saturday, as the main event commences on December 8th – 11th at the stadium.
“The developmental championship is organized and hosted by the state association, with support from the state government and Value Jet will feature other athletes across the region in both male and female category respectively.
“The championship’s main aim is to further develop the game of para-powerlifting and discover talents that can be nurtured to stardom,” he noted.
