Ogbadibo Yellow Fever Outbreak: Rep Member Commends Governor Ortom for Quick Intervention

… Calls on Benue State Govt to immediately vaccinate people across Benue South to prevent further spread of the ailment

The Honourable Member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, has commended the Benue State Government as well as Ogbadibo Local Government Council for their prompt action over the outbreak of Yellow Fever in Otukpa and Owukpa which has reportedly claimed the lives of more than 20 persons in Ogbadibo LGA.

Dr.Ottah Agbo in a press statement by his media Adviser, Mr. Andrew Agbese, said the quick intervention of Governor Ortom, his Deputy, Engr. Benson Abounu, the Ogbadibo Council Chairman, Hon. Prince Samuel Onu, his Deputy, Hon. Ebije Joseph Benjamin and the local government health officials, made it possible for the Benue State Ministry of Health to establish that the ailment is yellow fever through testing, and to commence treatment.

The Feedback Lawmaker urged the Benue State Ministry of Health to immediately commence total vaccination of people across Benue South and particularly in Ado/ Ogbadibo/ Okpokwu Federal Constituency, to prevent further spread of the disease.

Dr. Ottah Agbo who is the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Narcotic Drugs and Spokesman of the Minority Caucus said, with the deployment of medical experts in Ogbadibo, the people will heave a sigh of relief if they are inoculated against the dreaded disease!

The Lawmaker urged the people to cooperate with the health authorities in order to control the disease and eradicate it completely from the area.
