Obasanjo visits Borno state

Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has arrived Maiduguri, the Borno state capital on a visit. Obasanjo was received by the governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima, at the airport on Monday, May 22.

The former president is known to have visited the state on other occasions, his last recorded visit reportedly took place in March 2016, when he was in the state for a 2-day special visit.

Though the details of the Obasanjo’s present visit is yet to be made public, the former president has visited the insurgency ravaged state more than any other past president of Nigeria, according to Danborno.
