Oba Ewuare II hosts Edionwere, market women

As part of activities marking the 2018 Ugie festival, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, on Saturday hosted the Edionwere and Market women.
The event held at the palace ground, Benin City was well attended by the guests, while foremost musician, Akobe entertained them with melodious tunes.
The message of Omo N’Oba was delivered by Chief Peter Omogiate, the Obabueki of Benin Kingdom.
The Omo N’Oba told the Edionwere to continue to administer their various villages in line with the Benin tradition, and to ensure peace, progress and harmony in their domains.
His Royal Majesty advised the Edionwere to always report to the Palace any matter beyond them and capable of causing disaffection in their communities.
Oba Ewuare II charged the market women to always endeavour to keep the markets clean and avoid trading on the road as well as desist from dumping refuse along the streets.
The Ohen were enjoined to continue to use their spiritual gifts to pray and protect the Kingdom and the people at all times.
The Omo N’Oba used the occasion to invite everyone to worship with him tomorrow Sunday 30th December, 2018 at Holy Aruosa Church, Akpakpava Road, Benin City beginning at 10:00am.
