NTIC Kidnap: Police Denied Knowledge of Ransom Paid

The Zone 2 Police Headquarters, Lagos, has denied knowledge of any ransom payment to the kidnappers of students and staff of Nigerian Turkish International College.

The police in a statement by its spokesman for the zone, Benjamin Hudenyin said though the police was fully involved in the process that led to the their it knew nothing about any payment of ransom.

Benjamin therefore,  faulted claims that it was taking glory for the release of the victims even though it did not work with the parents

“We wish to state that the zonal headquarters had been on top of the situation right from inception; that it is not aware and was not part of any ransom payment; and that the real masterminds of the kidnap operation have been arrested and will soon be revealed in a comprehensive press briefing from the Force Headquarters Abuja.

Hudenyin however quoted the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, KayodeAderanti, saying that the command would not relent in its fight against crime in the zone.
